Best birthday ever!!!

This year for my 28th birthday, I was given the best gift a mother could ask for. At 8:45am on Jan 27th 2009 my second child, Sawyer David Harrison was born. Happy Birthday to us!!!

On Monday night I was laughing at Jer and my water broke. I wasn't having any contractions but the Dr. wanted me to come to the hospital anyway. We took our time getting out the door and dropped Izzy off at the neighbors house. Even though I knew she couldn't come with us, I still felt bad that she couldn't be involved. We strolled on into the hospital and it was a much different feeling from the last time around. I was talking and laughing as I lay there reading the headlines with Jer. I guess I was dialated to a three, but still was not in any pain. They moved us to the birthing room and it wasn't until I was at a 5 or 6 that I asked for the epidural. After that I was soon at an 8 and then the nurse gave me some pitocin to move things along because I had stopped progressing. I must say that the epidural was a lot more intense this time around because it was a continual dosage instead of just one shot like with Izzy. My legs felt like lead and I was very cold and itchy. I also got really sick with it and it wasn't pretty.

I was soon ready to push and in about 4 or 5 pushes, Sawyer David Harrison was born at 8:45am 7lbs 4oz, 20in long. So far, he is the best baby!! After having such a hard time with Isabelle, I'm so grateful for such a sweet little thing. He hardly ever cries and he is much more easy going than she was. It's so nice to have a good baby after a hard one, cause you appreciate it so much more.

Coming home has been a bit more of a challange than I'd expected it to be because Isabelle is really sick. She is coughing all over the place and has the usual runny nose and all of that. It's been really hard for us to keep her as far away from him as possible and I get really freaked out everytime she tries to come near him. Thankfully, we have my mom here to help out and keep her busy, otherwise I don't even know what I'd do. I'm hoping that her medicine will kick in soon so that we can all get back to normal.

I'll be posting more pictures soon, I got a new camera for my Birthday along with a baby, but I don't have a memory card for it, so I'll try to update them later. As for now, at least you're updated on my very happy baby birthday!!
